Apart from the assay marks I find the pictures too visually confusing to form an opinion, I am unable to form an image of the whole object.

The marks may be Hanau pseudo marks, silver marks used by a German town in the late 19th C. I am quite possibly wrong about this.

With the wheels missing, what you have is an interesting fragment at this point.  I believe they were made as desktop/tabletop accessories and many countries made these. I've never heard of your relative; if they are famous you need to explain/detail (dates/location/medium/awards) that in your listing. As suggested, better pics showing the entire object would help. You will have better pics for your listing, right?

I believe it's the British Lion and Unicorn, with crown (which doesn't necessarily mean, of course, that the piece is British-made):

Interestingly, the traditional Gold State Coach used by the monarch has four tritons "representing Britain's imperial power" (presumably inspired by the notion of sea-power). But the design is quite different:

This is Joe Cawthorn:

And here's some information about Queenie Vassar:

I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of her, either, despite the fact she hailed from my home city.

I think you've got it. There are images of the first mark on this page:

About 175 miles west to GlascowAbout 175 miles west to Glascow

My handy central location puts me about equidistant between the two cities.
