Spot on, as ever. It's the crest of the Jamaica Constabulary Force:

Need help identifying this antique sterling silver pin please.

I went searching for the unusual combination of heraldic elements (crocodile, especially) and the nearest thing I found was this old Jamican farthing, so it might be worth your while to search the Jamican angle further.   Be warned, I may be starting you off on a wild goose chase because the heraldry on your pin may be a bit of complete fantasy, because it also has Italian elements.

Thank you for taking the time to help me try to solve the mystery of my pin, I will
look into it. It is interesting how similar the crocodile & snake features are.

Thank you for your interest & message. There is no sterling silver mark that I can
see. Possible marks but hard to tell.

Wow, thank you so much, I'll look into the Jamaican Constabulatory Forces
history further. This is an obvious solution & I wish I had checked my messages
here sooner. For some reason I thought that these messages would be sent to my
regular message box as well.
Thanks again for your interest & help!

You're welcome, but...  Snake?  What snake?    No matter how much I enlarge or enhance your picture, I don't see a snake, so I am baffled.

Anyhow, really, I think *argon* found it for you:  Jamaican Constabulary.

Hello,
Just to follow up , I checked the link that you sent to me & it states that this Jamaican
Constabulatory Force was formed in 1716, I think that my pin is possibly from this era.
Do you have any idea how I can determine its value?
Thanks again!

I'm afraid you're wrong about the date, or the source you used was wrong.

While it's true Jamaica had constables of various sorts, organized in various ways, starting as early 1655, the Jamaica Constabulary Force was created after the 1835 Morant Bay Rebellion, according to the JCF website.  So your pin (cap badge, I'm pretty sure) cannot date earlier than that.

Actually, that sort of white metal, unmarked cap badge with a slider clip looks 1930s - 1950s to me.  So, you have a lot of research to do before dating this.,  Happily, Google should have a ton of info for you, since police insignia has many historians and collectors.

Or, you could think about sending a brief email, with your picture to the JCF.

Thanks for the kind comments and for getting back in touch. I agree with Maxine about the dating. Unfortunately I am not a pin collector, and have no clue as to value.
