I have a Murano double fish that I would like to sell. It has a lighted base which illinates the piece. I don't know if this piece came with the fish, if it was a display piece in a store or if it was made for the piece. Any ideas would be really appreciated

Thank you so much. This is very likely since this was a gift to my parents purchased by an aunt who lived in Manhattan.

I am not sure if there is anyway to know that for sure. The base looks hand crafted to me not mass produced. Personally I would sell it with the base but photograph the sculpture both lighted and not lighted.
I am not sure you are correct that it is Murano - I believe it could be Pilgrim Art glass though the company employed 2 Italian immigrant brothers who made their animal designs in the 50s. Read more here: http://theantiquarian.us/Hist.%20Pilgrim%20Glas%20Co.%20.htm
Here is a very similar piece with info https://www.marks4antiques.com/apa/Pilgrim-American-art-glass-fish-4e291
HOWEVER this piece https://www.aspireauctions.com/#!/catalog/311/1324/lot/46442/image
is attributed to Camer Glass - which was a seller of glass based in New York - perhaps this message board would be a good plave to look for help in identifying it http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php?topic=37837.0

Wow, that was an education! Thanks for the info. When I first inquired about this piece years ago, someone on these boards told me they believed it was a murano. There are no markings anywhere. So...

If it's Camer -- and based on the aspire link in the previous post it very may well be -- then it likely is Murano. Camer was a big importer glass from various of the Murano companies.
