ANYONE ELSE HAVING ISSUE WITH STANDARD SHIPPING LABELS, OVER THE LAST 30 DAYS, ITEMS SHIPPED ARE NOT RECEIVING ANY KIND OF A TRACKING STATUS, NOT AT LOCAL PO, OR PROCESSING CENTER ITS LIKE THEY ARE NOT SHIPPED AT ALL AND THIS IS BECOMING A CONCERING ISSUE. SHOULD I JUST RAISE THE SHIPPING COST TO REFLECT A USPS TRACKING NUMBER? BEEN INFORMED BY USPS THAT THE TRACKING NUMBER ON THE EBAY LABEL IS NOT TRACKABLE IN THEIR SYSTEM.

Hi how are you doing I, hope this helps I, looked at your listing I, mail like this ALL STAMPS anything from $ to $15 or $20
Everyone is different
I, use $1 store envelopes coin store flips
A STAMP it's easy IT just takes longer
I, take A piece of paper 100 for A $
Write A thank you note staple the flips to the paper all LABLED
It's faster when mailed
The post office goes fast when sorting through envelopes they throw aside the brown envelopes to sort
Their taught that their mail is 1st
Company mail is different
When I, fill out the envelopes I, write the zip code on the last line like
Joe Shomo
2304 Hill Mountain RD
Tucson AZ
12345 _3456
THAT zip code is all that they look at
I've, had mail go from the EAST COAST to the WEST IN 3 days,
Every person that purchase A coin or coins
Get A PICTURE OF YOUR EBAY ADDRESS ATTACHED TO THIS MESSAGE
Then mail
This cost more by 6 or 8 cents
I, do this to communicate with A buyer
It makes them feel better when you communicate with them

IT STILL DOES NOT ANSWER WHY A TRACKING NUMBER PROVIDED BY EBAY IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE POST OFFICE WHEN SHIPPING THIS WAY, TALKED TO EBAY AND THE USPS AND NEITHER HAD ANY ANSWERS. THE TRACKING NUMBER IS IMPORTANT FOR PROOF OF SHIPPING DON'T YOU THINK?

it seems about half the time when using a standard ebay label, tracking is kaput...
as a buyer when that happens, i usually get an "out for delivery" email the day before it's actually delivered...
it's a PITA that it doesn't work as promised, but it's nothing to get worked up about... and no, ebay standard label tracking numbers aren't trackable by USPS...

WHATS THE POINT OF THE TRACKING NUMBER, WE CAN JUST PUT A STAMP ON AND CALL IT A DAY WITH BASICALLY THE SAME RESULTS, SEEMS LIKE KIND OF A EBAY SCAM GOING ON HERE DON'T YOU THINK?

Not "tracked" as such, but has a # assigned that works for some to be followed.
ESE counts for Top Rated seller status.
ESE has ebay insurance if it gets a scan anytime in the process. (30 day delay to file)
explain the "scam" aspect.

eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) is a metered letter mail shipment so it does not receive traditional tracking scans. The clerk at the PO counter cannot scan it and you can't track it on the USPS website. The envelopes are scanned by sorting machinery at distribution centers along the way and tracking will appear on eBay.
Common reasons ESE labels don't get scanned include:
- Overpacking. Envelopes are too stiff. It's not recommended to use trading card top loaders or cardboard mailers.
- Using ineligible packing material such as a bubble envelope.
- Placement of label. Label should be placed in the upper right corner with approx 1/8"-1/4" clearance from edges. If it's placed too far from the corner (like in the middle of a long envelope) the machinery may not scan it.
- Placing items like coins in the center of the envelope. The center of the envelope needs to be the most flexible part.
- Printer ink is not dark enough, or label color is too bright (stick to white labels if you can).
- Regional issues with sorting machines, volume processing, picky USPS employees, etc.
With ESE, a 'delivered' scan generally occurs at the last sort facility before it gets to the buyer, so typically the buyer will receive their order a few days after the delivered scan.
If a buyer files a not received claim, you do have insurance coverage and the claims process is outlined on this page: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/ebay-standard-envelope?id=...

thanks this was helpful,---- however it still seems very hit or miss as in your last line.---- "With ESE, a 'delivered' scan "generally" occurs at the last sort facility before it gets to the buyer, so typically the buyer will receive their order a few days after the delivered scan. S

Does ebay receive a fee in the label process?
What if no scan is received what protections for seller or buyer what's the point of the so called "tracking number".?
Representing a mailing label with a tracking number that is not trackable by USPS. Isn't that misleading?

ESE's are pretty much hit or miss, but more hit than miss. If you don't have a delivered scan and the buyer says they never got it you can refund them and put in for the insurance from ebay. I've done this a few times. You don't get the postage back, only the price of the item. So it goes. Rare enough that it does not pose a problem.
If you are having issues a lot with sending these you need to review your shipping technique, if the coins can move around or stack up you will have problems. I put each 2x2'd coin in a 3x4 ziplock, staple that to the packing slip so that it ends up furthest from the postage side of the envelope. If I'm shipping more than one (I think ebay says you can do 6 coins) I staple each one so they don't overlap. I will only go up to 4 coins across the packing slip, 5 coins I'm charging enough to send ground advantage.
ESE envelopes have to wrap around a 10" diameter drum or they are non-machinable.
