All CertiCard Assay Perth Mint gold bars are fake if serial number starts with Letter A
See pics below of a counterfeit 1 ounce Perth Gold bar produced in China.

They just started showing up again on eBay. At least $20,000 worth.

I did find it by just typing 'perth gold bar 1 ounce.' 🙂
It's sad that people do that.

Perth mint could do better and it wouldn't be hard.
It's like they didn't put a lot of thought into it.
Those serial numbers could be non-sequential and double digits/numbers used, so checking against a data base would reveal number and letter sequences not used.
P0851 f2279 84K2 < how many combinations with that [caps included].... now use only 50% of those combinations. Now list the serial numbers with the product [say 50 types].
Hows the possible combination reckoning now?
Not enough.. add another 4 to the 12 above... P0851 f2279 84K2 OcD4
It's absurd to suggest a plastic moulding affords counterfeit detection protection, tamper yes.
It's easy to laser engrave the numbers on the bars and rounds, and far more indelible if the paper card were to suffer water immersion damage.
