12 Abril 2018: Greetings to all coin collecters where-ever you may be! Heron is pleased to report the acquisition of another Copper coin of the 19th Century. Just received from Oberpfalz. Thanks to Napoleon One this coin is from one a Nappy's creations. As we know, Wurzburg was a Bishopric for many centuries and was a member of the Holy Roman Empire. When Nappy invaded the Rheinland he created many entities. The Wurzburg Grand Duchy is one of those entities, issuing coins from 1806 - 1814. We thank Napoleon for creating another entity for us to collect!

Short History of Wurzburg Grand Duchy:
1803 - Wurzburg Bishopric secularized and presented to Bavaria by Nap I.
1806 - After dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806 Wurzburg was elevated to Grand Duchy and Joined Napoleon's Confederation of the Rhein.
1814 - Wurzburg awarded to Bavaria - no mas Grand Duchy status.

**Another nice addition to the Europa Central & Oest coin accumulation. Plus another really neat early 19th Century Copper. Double the pleasure, double the fun! This hobby is certainly a great hobby for a lifetime. We are now in mid-April and that is when Heron received his first batch of world coins - mid April 1946.
