I would expect that all Philly and Denver cents minted for circulation to have the A and M almost touching.
The 'S' mint proof coins from 1993-2007 are supposed to have a good space between those two letters, and the scarce varieties are the ones with A and M almost touching (probably only the 1998s and 1999s).
You should be able to come across some other 2003 philly cents rather easily and compare yours to the others. We'd like to see a picture if you can zoom in to your 2003 coin.
