Coin Help

Need some help, I found bunch of coins in my death pile. Anyone know if those that have these stories written are they all replicas? I had assume all were replicas until i found some price guide on the back of some of these. Live listings also looks like it also. Just wanted a double confirmation

Re: Coin Help

I'll submit one to NGC. I still have credit with CGC and apparently credits transfer over. 😄

Re: Coin Help

These things are virtually immortal. They were being sold to tourists in souvenir shops across the country at least as far back as the 1950's. People still bring them into coin shops and coin shows, usually without the paperwork, and think they have a hidden treasure. Sometimes it is hard to convince them otherwise.

Re: Coin Help

Common diecast replica, one of millions. In my opinion it would be better to save your NGC submission for something worthwhile. YMMV

Re: Coin Help

thanks, that was my initial take but couldn't 100% be sure, so went to the boards.  I'll just list with standard envelope..

Thanks all for the help.

Re: Coin Help

It is a fugio colonial cent. With the write up, it is most likely a reproduction. In the condition it appears to be in, if authentic, it would be worth tens of thousands of dollars. If something is too good to be true....... it usually isn't!
