CHANGE OF PACE: CHING DYN. CASH 1644-1661 HSUAN-FU MINT CHIHLI PROVINCE..

12 Marzo 2018 - Yes, a 'change of pace' of reports of coins acquired.  As some of youse long time Coin Chat Readers know, elHeron became interested in the different Ching Dynasty mint marks in about 2005.   A few summers pasado Heron had for his summer 'collecting goal' a target of reaching 50 different mint marks of the Ching Dynasty.   Well, he did not reach that goal and was 2 mints short of 50.  Then in early 2017 Heron did reach 50 different mint marks.

And now Heron is happy to report acquisiton of number 51 of different Ching Dynasty Mint Marks.

A nice VF Brass coin cast during the reign of Emperor Shun-Chih 1644-1661.

What makes this a nice addition to the 'fun Ching collection' is the nice Manchu Mint Mark for the Hsuan-Fu Mint in Chihli Province.

Sometimes searching on eBay can be extremely interesting.  Heron was perusing the listings of a seller located outside the USofA.   The seller had some British Merchant Trade Tokens listed.   In addition, the seller had some China Cash listed.    Amongst the China Cash was this Hsuan-Fu Mint coin of Chihli Province.

And it was a 'Buy It Now' item and so Heron did.  Why stop at 50 when other Mint Marks are sometimes available.  Why indeed?

This coin is not 'rare'.  It is somewhat 'scarce' but not rare.

To view this very nice Manchu character Hsuan-Fu Mint Mark, use Googly and enter Calgary Coin Co. Chinese Cast Coins, 'The Ching Dynasty'.

The coins with different mint marks are listed by Ching Dynasty Emperors:

The first Emperor listed is Nurachu.

The second Emperor listed is Shun-Chih.

Scroll down to "4th SERIES".  Find catalog number S-1412.  This is 'HSUAN'

[Hsuan-Fu in Chihli].

This nice recent addition to the different Mint Marks of Ching Dynasty accumulation was a really fun 'find'.   Heron is still enjoying the acquisition of Nr. 51 different!

This coin collecting hobby is really GREAT FUN!

Dos Equis...

15 Marzo 2018 - Hola Blinker17,  congrats on the Zanzibar 1 Pyza coin.  That coin has always been one a Heron's favoritos.   Actually it is one of the first coins purchased by Heron 'on his own'.   Acquired from Littleton Coin Co. in 1948, via mail order. Heron believes the VF grade coin cost about 20 Centavos US in 1948.  Plus the return postage with payment.  That cost 3 Centavos US.  Ha!

Yes, collecting various world coins is super fun.   And 19th Century world coins are really great!   Many colonial coins to enjoy plus the many Napoleon invasion and occupation coins.  Mostly in Copper.   And we could include all the interesting dated British Merchant Trade Tokens of early 19th Century.  We could spend a lifetime enjoying just the 19th Century of coins.

Regardos.
