Why is eBay redirecting me from a specific item to generic https://www.ebay.com/

I didn't do a good job of explaining this before and someone got the idea there was "spamware" on my laptop. There is not. I am linking to eBay from an eBay email that is notifying me of a saved search item showing up in my search. Firefox opens a tab for me and links me to that item link (just like normal) and I DO SEE that item for about three seconds. Then, like a time delayed thing, I get redirected to generic https://www.ebay.com/.  This just started happening about a month ago and ONLY HAPPENS when I link to eBay from a saved search email, which I do often, and it is very annoying. Anyone?

Does the same redirection happen if you use a browser other than Firefox?

I had the same problem with firefox, so I switched for ebay to Chrome. now it's fine, hope this helps you.

I've been experiencing similar redirects while using Safari.

... in both the community & while attempting to open a listing.
