Protocol should to step in and help on items not recieved without being asked.  Ebay pockets the money on forgotten items.  Greed stops them from helping buyers

@0305tomm,

"Protocol should to step in and help on items not recieved without being asked. Ebay pockets the money on forgotten items".

Have you any idea of how much server or man power it would take to keep track of the millions of tracking numbers issued each and every day and what it would end up costing buyers?

    You were the one who made the purchase, and it is up to you to keep track of them. That's why there is a Track button on the items in your purchase history.  If you had read the terms of the Money Back Guarantee, you would know that you have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date, to file and Item Not Received (INR) dispute.  If YOU forgot about the purchase for more than that time frame, then you are responsible for that happening.

If you paid with PayPal or a Credit Card, they give you up to 6 months to file for a refund for an item you did not receive.

Just checking:  As someone who's been here for at least 14 years, you do know about the Money Back Guarantee for buyers, right?

And the idea that eBay does not help buyers is ludicrous.  eBay bends over backwards to help buyers.

If/when a buyer does not understand the MBG or does not use it, then don't think the blame falls on eBay.

Ebay does help buyers, but buyers have to let Ebay know there is a problem with an order.

Unless the buyer lets Ebay know about a problem, how is Ebay to know?

or within a reasonable amount of time.

Even Walmart has a time limit (90 days returns with or w/o receipt)

No tracking or response from seller after a month and several emails. I select item not received. I get a message to wait 3 days to ask for help. 3 days later I'm messaged to wait another 3 days over and over. I select help, then the item and get the virtual assistant that has no clue as to the item I selected for help.  I ask for help 3 or 4 different ways and get nowhere, same as selecting item not received. Why is it so frustratingly difficult to get help? Items from China can take 6 wks and if I forget about it who profits. If an item doesn't ship ebay could do something besides making me jump thru hoops.

If purchased item never ships ebay could realize a deadbeat seller needs to be dealt with and refund money w/o the buyers  assistance.

@0305tomm,

Letting us know 4 days ago that the item was coming from China, would have been helpful. What was the last estimated delivery date for the item?  That info is in your order details.  Was a tracking number uploaded to your purchase history and was it one for USPS, FedEx or UPS?

 If the tracking is for a domestic carrier, the tracking will not update, until the item arrives in the U.S. from China, clears customs, and is handed off to the domestic carrier.

   You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute.  If ebay keeps pushing back the time, for them to step in,  it is probably because the last estimated date has not yet passed.

If you forget to check tracking, that is on you!!! eBay is not responsible for keeping track of your purchases, since they are not the Seller or Buyer.  If you have opened an INR dispute, it will appear above your purchase history and if you open it did the seller upload a tracking number there?

@0305tomm,

Maybe if you check each seller's feedback profile page before buying from them, and stop buying items from chinese sellers, you will not have so many issues. Bargain priced items are no bargain if they do not fit, work, or take a long time to be delivered.

Not all items ship with tracking, so eBay has to rely on buyers to let them know if an item never arrives.
