Since they changed Feedback received to not show this next to the item bought, I will no longer be leaving feedback anymore. I only leave feedback for those that left it for me as a buyer, so since this is no longer shown I will not be leaving feedback anymore. I don't have time to try and find this. Too bad for the sellers. Why they took this feature away is ridiculous. So if buyers want to know why they are no longer receiving feedback, this is why. I can no longer see if I received feedback unless I go to my feedback page. I don't have time to go back and forth trying to find each one. I feel bad for the sellers.

The easiest way to approach feedback is as follows:
As a buyer, receive the product. Inspect it. If it's good to go, leave positive feedback.
As a seller. Ship and leave positive feedback.
Don't worry about what the other person does. It's not worth getting your knickers in a knot.

If you care about feedback, leaving feedback for others -- regardless whether you have received it first -- is one of the few things you can easily do to increase your chances of receiving positive feedback in the long run.
Some users only leave positive feedback if they receive it first. When two such users are involved in a transaction together, neither receives positive feedback as each is waiting for the other to blink first.
In any case, I can still see the icons that indicate whether feedback has been received or left on my Summary and Purchase History pages.
If you do not see those icons, try signing out of eBay and signing back in, or try another browser.

I just checked on my favorite seller and it shows the names of the items that he sold but it doesn't show the names of the items of what he bought. I checked another person's feedback and they only buy and what they bought did not show. I suspect that ebay did this to further protect privacy. Bummer. I like to look because sometimes I will see an item that I have sold for X dollars and that motivates me to sell that item.
Anyway, need that information as a way of remembering what you paid for an item and from what seller, maybe get a notebook and record it.
Feedback is voluntary. As a seller I ONLY post it if I get it or a buyer complains and wants it first. Otherwise, I don't post it first. A buyer's job is done once they tell the seller everything is OK or the item is not as described. A seller's obligation ends once buyer has informed him/her item is OK and feedback is posted if they got it first. If there is an issue, then the seller must address that issue.
I have also learned that a few fellow sellers now don't want feedback at all because they don't want their family to see what they sold. So maybe that is why some folks aren't getting it.

Since feedback always has been, and remains, voluntary handle it however you like.
As a seller, I leave it upon payment, just as a quick and easy way to say "thank you," just as I would if I were behind the counter in a brick-and-mortar. If a problem develops later, I'll deal with that problem.
As a buyer, I leave it when I receive the item, assuming it arrived on time and as described so there is no reason to contact the seller about it.
But, really, there is no wrong way or right way in this purely voluntary system, and most buyers and sellers don't fuss over it much these days. I think everyone did when buying on-line was a novelty, but that is so routine now that a lot of people, buyers and sellers, don't bother with feedback at all.

I gave up worrying about feedback in general a long time ago. Fretting about not getting any, not leaving any, period.
I WILL automatically leave feedback for a seller ( regardless of whether or not they reciprocated) as a courtesy at the close of a transaction, as I do believe they have a much harder job to do than I do as a buyer. In my view it serves as a " thank you, item received" , just as well as it does informing others of my experience.
I don't understand the whole " well, I'm not leaving any if I don't get any" thinking. Out of all my years buying here I only have a 3 digit feedback, that should be upwards of 4- plus. As far as I'm concerned, my seller's reply to me is sending me my item. Plain and simple, and I'm fine with that.
Courtesy is courtesy. Not everybody shows it, but its sure nice when somebody can show it without expecting a return that may not come.

Unfortunately, so many buyers demand that 'attaboy' feedback.

If you want to see if you received feedback for an item you have bought, go to your feedback profile page, Click on the as a buyer tab, the feedback you've received, the item title and ebay item number and seller's username are all displayed unless you bought from a private listing. It only takes a few seconds to get to the page. And at the bottom of it there is a button to leave feedback which will display a list of transactions you can leave feedback for.
Since you also sell on ebay, you know how much feedback means for sellers, and that buyer feedback is not an indication of their reputation. So why would you deny other sellers a feedback? Doesn't not getting feedback from buyers bother you?

What in the Blue Blazes are you talking about.
Follows is a screen shot of my recent feedback. Everything about that page puts the lie to all of your complaints

Some users are apparently seeing a new Purchase History page which no longer displays icons indicating whether feedback for a transaction has been left or received.
See here for a screenshot of the new page:
I still see the icons in my Purchase History and also on my Summary page under Orders.
Some users prefer to leave feedback only after they receive feedback, and without an easy indication of which transactions have received feedback already, a subset of those users would choose not leave any feedback at all rather than risk leaving feedback for someone who has not left feedback for them, and in turn they will likely receive fewer positive feedback ratings from others.

Or is this what you are talking about?
The first 2 left feedback the third one did not. (See the green circle and cross?)
(I removed the sellers name for privacy sake - but on my screen the buyers name and user name are clearly visible)
