Beware Sellers offering Warranty

Just an FYI Buyers be wary of thinking sellers will honor their warranty they offer after the return period is up with eBay. I recently purchased a cellular from a specific seller ( MiamiWireless) because of there amount of sales and that they offered one year warranty on their listing on eBay. I purchased an excellent quality iPhone from them. When it arrived it was not excellent more like a B- as it had a gash on the screen. But I needed the phone and could not wait to return and get it replaced. ( Hindsight I should have just returned it). Fast forward a few months and the phone is no longer charging. So I contacted the seller, very responsive at first acknowledged the defect , and after submitting various photos of the device they offered to replace it. Sent me a return label and I sent it in. A week passed after delivery no response. So I messaged MiamiWireless and was responded with a “Phone is damaged we’re not honoring the warranty and we’ll send the phone back to you. So I responded with please show me proof of the damage ( I know there was none and I have the photos and the phone was in an otter box with screen protector since day one) . After that the seller ghosted me. Several more messages to them and nothing. So I contacted eBay support was Told they would reach out to the seller but that’s it. There’s nothing they will do and I’m out my money and the device since the seller never sent it back (Basically theft at this point since they kept it). I mean if the seller has a listing on the site and clearly states they offer warranty eBay should hold them accountable. But alas no, and I believe the seller knows eBay won’t do anything about it. I’m sure I’m not the only one this has happened to but once your passed the return period you can leave negative feedback so I can’t warn others. Please don’t count on eBay to have your Back. I’ve been with eBay on my private account for 20 years and my business for 17 years and have never had such a bad taste left. Shame.

Beware Sellers offering Warranty

@rpmstreetcustomsowner,

"Just an FYI Buyers be wary of thinking sellers will honor their warranty they offer after the return period is up with eBay".

eBay has never been able to force a seller to honor their own warranty after the 30 day time frame for returning items has passed. Because of that when you see that a seller is offering a longer warranty period, and there is no image of the warranty, ask for one.  If there's no response within a few days, you know the warranty is just air.

   If you are buying a "new" item from a seller like yours who lists many, you have to ask if they are an Authorized dealer of the item.  Most of them are not, so the Mfr. will not honor their warranty. Often the new items listed have been superseded at which time they are auctioned off.  The Mfr. doesn't honor warranties on those items either.

I do not know what the seller's feedback percentage was when you made the purchase, but considering what it is now, I'd say it was below 98.6% which is the cutoff point most experienced ebay buyers will accept from a high volume seller.  Always check the feedback profile pages of any seller you intend to buy from.

Beware Sellers offering Warranty

Buying anything NEW on eBay and expecting any warranty (outside of eBay 30-day MBG) from the seller or the manufacturer, is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Most sellers that list NEW items on eBay are not authorized to sell products as NEW and have no intentions of helping those who make purchases outside of the 30-day eBay MBG.
