Hollow celluloid sphere?

Here's something I haven't seen before. It feels like celluloid, though it looks so delicate I'm afraid to do anything to test it. It's light as air, and about 1/2" across.

Have any of you folks seen anything like it?

It kinda does in the pictures, but it's teeny.
