I think the Goldwater signature is autopen, because it was the height of the campaign season and this is a campaign promotional item sold/given away.
The signature by the author is probably legit, it looks too sloppy to be the kind of rested one-off you'd expect from an autopen stencil.
The gift card is a nice inclusion, and provides the provenance in implication which I've derived here.
While I'd expect few in commerce at any given point, I'd also expect them to be fairly plentiful.
Goldwater was my generation, early. Folks who voted for him would be in their 80's now and these type of books will pop up more frequently for the next little while.
Good luck with it.

The Goldwater signature appears be authentic, not an autopen.
A quick look at a few other signed copies on the market shows the same angle to his signature, but also variations in the handwriting and ink.
Needless to say, no one signs their name the same way twice. Every autopen would essentially look the same. The relative scarcity of signed copies of this title currently for sale also argues against a machine signature. If numerous autopen copies had been produced for the campaign, they would regularly make their way to eBay and other sites as "signed" copies. That doesn't seem to be the case.
