@14scruffles As far as I know you can't although in the Sent file there is an Unread link at the top of the page but I am not sure if that is for the Sender's benefit to mark items as Unread or just the boiler plate page layout eBay supplied.
Regardless of whether or not a Seller reads your message they do not have to reply ... what is your concern?
