Transaction defect rate explained?

Hi,

How does the transaction defect rate work? Is it when you cancel an order that is posted and someone buys it , then I cancel it? (due to out of stock, lost etc.)

The transaction defect rate has nothing to do when you are ending an item listing when no one has purchased the item or made an offer correct?

Thanks in advance,

Correct  - there is no defect for removing an unsold item.

Seller cancellation defects are when you cancel after the sale.

The other defect is for not resolving a claim - when the buyer has to ask eBay to step in to get their refund.
