I have listed & sold numerous patches that need to be mailed in a regular envelope with a 66 cent stamp. I have checked the envelope in the shipping area of the listing and listed a flat rate of $1.00 for shipping. However, when the item has sold, when I go to purchase the label, it lists Ground Advantage and a shipping rate of $3.00+. I have searched for a place to change this, but no where is a regular envelope listed and can find no place to change it. I went ahead and mailed them out in a regular envelope and informed the buyer, but it still shows as needing to be shipped and overdue on the listing. HELP!

You can not print a label for a regular envelope - you use stamps and hand write the address.

But - patches now qualify for the eBay standard envelope.  You still use a regular envelope, but you get some limited tracking at a few pennies less than first class postage.

Enter 0 as the height for your package when you look at shipping services and you should see the standard envelope as an option.

Thank you for your reply. When listing my item, I have done exactly what you suggested: Listing 0 for height and checking the standard envelope box. The problem is, when the item is sold the shipping portion lists Ground Advantage and a postal rate of $3.00+. When I go to change the shipping method, the standard envelope is not listed any where even though my package size is 3x6x0 and the weight is 1 oz. Do you know how to change this or what I need to do to switch it back to what my listing says?

Your listings have 1st class letter, not the standard envelope.

It looks like merit badges are not in the list of patches that qualify for the standard envelope - I could not get the option when I tried, although other boy scout patch categories qualify - like council patches.  I would think this is an oversight. I am going to ask an eBay team member if it is possible to ask that they be added.

For now you will have to use a regular first class envelope with stamps, and manually mark the items shipped.

devon@ebay  The category merit badges under Boy Scout badges & patches doesn’t seem to be on the list for the standard envelope, but they are cloth patches like the other patch categories.  Can you ask the standard envelope folks to check and add them, if they agree?  Thanks!

Hey @wooden_flower! I reached out to the shipping team and they said that this category isn't currently supported at this time and we submitted the category to be added and we'll let you know once it's been added.

Thank you for your response. New problem regarding the same question I previously asked. Now when I click on the item sold regarding shipping, there is a note saying "mark as shipped". When I click on it, it brings up another window saying "Mark this item as shipped?" When I click "ok" it brings up the box "There was a problem. Please try again". I try numerous times and still get the error message. Can you ask the powers that be to fix this? It looks as though my sold items are overdue and they have been mailed days ago! I was so happy to see that "Marked as shipped" option and so disappointed when it didn't work! Thank you so much for your help!

If you are on a computer, you might try clearing your cookies and browser history for eBay pages. This sometimes helps with these errors.

Or try marking it through the app. If you're using the app, try on a computer, or use your phone browser to go to the website and try there.
