I need a little bit of help here. I just recently sold a pre-order item that I thought was supposed to be delivered sooner than what it truly is going to be delivered. I have made the buyer aware that the item will ship as soon as it is delivered same day and they have agreed but eBay has me marking the item as shipped on October 1. What are my options here?

It's a policy violation to list a pre-sale item that will not be shipped within 40 days. The listing must clearly indicate that this is a presale item in both the title and description.
This item should not have been listed until mid-late October.
Since you didn't adjust your handling time (which states you'll ship within 3 days of payment), you'll receive a defect on your seller record for not shipping on time. That's why eBay is telling you to ship by 10/1.
Here's the policy:
The damage has already been done, so at this point there are only two options:
1. Leave it alone and let it ride.
2. Cancel the transaction for being out of stock, and relist for this specific buyer to repurchase closer to the delivery date (changing your handling time accordingly and getting the presale mention into the title as required).

Thank you for the clarity. I was under the impression that the item was shipping sooner to me than it really is. I’ve spoken to the buyer and they’re aware of the time frame and are ok with the time frame. I’ll be honest I rarely sell on eBay anymore and this is my new account. What’s the worst that’ll happen with shipping late? Thanks a ton for your help.

Probably nothing more than the defect for late shipping other than that you're buyer's payment will likely be held longer.
