Please help! I can't send a message to a seller I've purchased from (or any other ebayer for that matter). When I click on the "contact seller" button, the message box opens on the right of my screen, but I can't enter my message and the "send message" button stays gray. I've tried this on my desktop using Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer and I get the same failed result, even after I've cleared my cookies. The same thing happens when I try using my iphone and ipad. I've tried every suggested remedy I've been able to find. Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know how to fix it? You should be able to use the "contact" link in a seller's listing or in your Purchase History to send a message to the seller.
If you are having problems, try clicking on the "Send message" text to start typing your message.

If you are using the new messaging system, start typing where it says SEND MESSAGE. The area will enlarge as you type. When done typing, click on that "paper airplane" looking arrow on the right side to send the message.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I use the contact link which takes me to the "contact seller" link. I click on that, and the message box opens but won't let me enter any text into it regardless of where I click, including the send message text. The "submit" box stays gray and right clicking on the box treats it as an image and not an active element.

Unfortunately, it won't let me type there.

You need to click on the "Send message" text line in order to start typing your message.
If that is not working, try another browser to rule out a browser issue.

Thanks, but clicking there only opens a "send a copy to my email box", but I still can't enter text.

As soon as I see that a cursor appears at the start of the "Send message" text line and I can start typing.

I tried Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome, and had the same issue with all browsers. The good news is, I was just able to send a message using my phone, so as long as I have that option, I’m not going to worry about figuring out the desktop. Thank you to all who tried to help.
