I sold an item and shipped it the same day using the shipping method that the buyer selected. Due to bad weather, the item took a couple of extra days to get to the buyer. I was in contact with the buyer from the moment I found out they didn't receive the item until I got notice that they received it. I thought everything was good with this sale until I found that my account has a "late shipment rating" which is not the case. It was shipped on time but I can't control how long USPS takes to deliver the item. I sent Ebay a "request to remove a defect" and got an email back saying that it is denied and that I should:
- Make sure to ship within the handling time.
- Always use the shipping service the buyer selected at checkout.
- Upload tracking details as soon as you ship so the buyer knows their order is on the way and can check its status.
I had already done all of these things. They then said that "Please note that this decision is final and cannot be changed or escalated."
This is crazy because they don't have anyone that you can speak to about these issues. Machines can't reason with you and this is very frustrating. Ebay makes a lot of money off of my sales, the least they could do is have a customer service phone number for sellers.
