Received security code that I didn't request

I keep receiving emails from eBay with security codes for my account in other countries.  I think this is the third one I received (today).  How can I stop getting these?  I have to keep changing my password!

You should not need to change your password just because you received a security code message.

You might receive such a code if someone tries and fails to sign in to your account, possibly someone with a similar username or email address that has entered your username by mistake. The user may be trying to reset the password of their account without realizing they are trying to sign in to your account. Unless that person also has access to your email account, the security code will not help that other user.

You only need to change your password if someone else has successfully signed in to your account. The security code is a sign of failure, not success.
