I sold an item and the buyer wanted to meet and pay outside of eBay. I declined and stated that I wanted to have everything go through eBay. I offered to have the order cancelled if he preferred.
He understood that I wanted the transaction to go through eBay and paid for the item.
While I was creating the shipping label he sent a cancellation request which I didn't see until after I created the label.
I was fine cancelling the label and order but because I "shipped" the item already I wasn't given the option to accept the cancel request.
It states "We are unable to cancel the order" and "You let us know that you can no longer cancel this order because you already shipped it on Feb 16, 2025."
I told the buyer that I will cancel the shipping label and just issue him a full refund.
I issued the refund and everything seems fine now but in my cancellations section the order is under 'Cancellations Declined.'
Am I able to somehow change it to officially canceled instead of declined?

No, you can not change the cancellation status.
The order will age off of your waiting for shipment list, or you can archive it through seller hub - under actions - https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
