Invalid request error

I am having a problem running the eBay application on a Amazon fire tablet.  I have used the eBay app on this tablet before but, I needed to reset it to factory defaults and then I reinstalled the eBay app.  When I load the app it displays "Try searching for something above or tap "Reload" and try again" (attached picture).

I have tried removing the case for the eBay app restarting the tablet and that didn't work.  I've tried uninstalling, then restarting and reinstalling and that didn't work.  I've tried these both many times without any luck.  I don't know what else I could do to fix this problem.

If I try to login, I get the error "invalid request".  I can login with the internet or on other tablets without a problem.

Does any have any idea to help me?
