I purchased an item, however upon arrival it did not meet my expectations. The seller does not accept returns, however upon contact he stated I could return it. I submitted a return request, however the seller (seemingly intentionally) failed to respond to it and all messages following. The request was supposed to close automatically two days ago, however it didn't. There is no way for me to contact eBay or ask them to step in, despite following the instructions from their help page. I've since closed the return request due the lack of support on both eBay's and the seller's end, however I would still like to get my money back. Is there anything left that I can do.

Instead of closing the return, you should have gone back to the Returns Request after 3 days of no response from the seller, and clicked on Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
Since you closed the request, you cannot reopen it. Did you pay with Paypal? If so, you have 180 days from date of sale to file a returns request with them. If you paid with a credit card, you can file a charge back with the credit card issuer.
