Getting a refund without a return

Is it possible to get a refund without returning an item?  I ordered an item by mistake, but then I cancelled right after, and was told that I couldn't cancel the order.  I messaged the seller and told them what happened, and that I wanted a refund, but they never checked their messages and shipped the item anyway.  I'm physically unable to return the item.  Can I still get a refund?

No, not if the seller wants the item back before refunding you.

Yes but the problem is that I should've been able to cancel the order right after I made the mistake.  It was literally two minutes after I ordered it.  That shouldn't have been a problem, and the seller should've checked their messages before they shipped it.  And I've gotten refunds before without returning items, so it can happen.

A buyer can't cancel an order, they can only ask the seller to cancel, but they are not required to cancel.

If you get a refund without returning the item, depends on the seller.
