Default payment method

What the hell is this, no other website I'm aware of forces you to chose a single payment method ahead of your purchase. 

Different cards have different balances and points systems that I use at different times. I'm not setting a default payment method. 

It seems like every time Ebay makes a change it's worse.

 AFAIK, you’d only be asked to choose a payment method before making an offer … which is good only for 48 hours.

This feature is currently being tested on some accounts … due to the high number of buyers not paying after their offer is accepted.

You already know what you are going to spend. What difference does it make if you choose the payment method before or after you commit to buy? Choose the one you want to use for that item should the offer be accepted.

This new process is beneficial not only for eBay and sellers but also for responsible buyers who pay for their purchases. It weeds out those buyers who make frivolous offers and then don't pay thereby increasing the odds that your offer will be accepted.
