Are the winning auctions posted the same day as when the clue is put up? Like, for instance, on the dime's winning auction, will that have been posted today, or any day?

Help me understand this

So, if I think I found the item which is a winner, it would just say "you've won $1000" or whatever, or I have to bid on it and wait for it to end. I'm confused here. Any help is appriciated.

Can someone please explain to me how you will know if you have won or not. In the lists of auctions will there not be a price or something? Thanks a ton to all who clarify this up for me!
