Well you remember I told you in the e-mail yesterday that the plumber had flooded my bathroom and kitchen?
Well I got home last night from work and everything was okay. The kitchen and bathroom had been dried up, the only thing was I couldn't use my kitchen lights for 24 hours to let them dry out too. Frank was working late and came home around 9.30pm. He had something to eat and we sat chatting and watching TV till 11pm and he said he was going to bed. I was loading the washing machine when he came in and asked me to come and look at something. I went into our bedroom to find that our bedroom had been flooded too. Our bed sits right under where the tank is!!!

My bed was soaked through to the base, everything soaked. Frank slept in the trundle bed in Sophies room because I didn't want to sleep in Sophie's room because I don't sleep well and am up at all times. So I had to sleep literally on the edge of our bed at Franks side that wasn't wet! We didn't have a spare duvet so I had to put duvet covers over me to keep warm. But I was cold all night!
X-( How in the world are you going to dry out your mattresses. Do you have a portable heater and that fan to blow on it.
I got up and phoned the council this morning and asked if the plumber had notified them of the flood he had caused, his manager said no! I had to phone the local housing office and explain my situation to them, but they were really good. I explained I don't have a spare duvet as in the summer we just use a quilted throw. So as that was soaking wet and now needed laundered at the local laundry because it is too big for my washing machine. I told them I would not get the duvet back till after the weekend from the laundry, they told me to go ahead and send my duvet to the laundry and go buy a new one. They said to keep all receipts for expenses in trying to get things clean and dry. Including how much detergent I used for my bedding and towels. Brand new towels which the plumber used to mop up the bathroom floor rather than come down and ask frank for some newspapers or old towels or a mop!!
😮 Maybe you should put your new chairs together and try to sleep on them instead of on the edge of the bed.
Thanks Cricket and Skube, oh everything was such a mess this morning I could have cried! We opened all the windows in our bedroom and stood the matress up, we left the windows open till as late as possible even though it was a cold day here. The matress felt dry, the test is when I go to bed as it was my side that took all the soaking!
