How to prevent chargeback...?

How to prevent chargeback...?

sweet_offers
Pathfinder

I just got a second chargeback.

When you get instant payment and everything looks legit,

what are ways to prevent chargback?

last one came from zero feedback buyer.

I called paypal and gave up after 30 minutes on hold.

The PP seller protection is the best there is, if you shipped correctly you will be covered.

I get them for new laptops, no big deal.

In fact they no longer take back the funds......

All stays as is while they investigate and ultimately rule in my favor.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, last time I showed proof of delivery and after couple weeks they ruled in my favor.
I guess it's one of those we can't do much about.

Yes, a seller who loses either did not ship correctly or due to  the type item had no protection anyway.

Is this why some sellers insist on shipping to paypal confirmed address?
I get some buyers who ask me to ship to a different address.

A seller in not required to send an item to a confimred address, that changed years ago.

A seller does need to send the item to the address Paypal provides.

If anyone for a second thinks psypsl has their back on anything is either delusional or not living in reality.

Paypal will cover what the SPP says they will cover.

Which in an Unauth case means they will cover a watch as long as you have followed the steps.

What they won't cover is an intangible item, like a gift card for instance.

Your chargeback was for an e-gift card which is an intangible item, and therefore not eligible for PayPal seller protection.  The OP's item is a watch... that's a tangible item... it's eligible for seller protection.

PayPal's Seller Protection Policy (SPP) no longer requires the seller to ship to a confirmed address. The policy now requires the transaction to be marked "Eligible" or "Partially Eligible" for seller protection, and the seller must ship to the "ship to" address as shown on the PayPal Transaction Details page.

Even though shipping to a buyer's confirmed address is no longer a seller protection requirement, it still has SPP eligibility consequences for non-eBay transactions.

The PayPal Seller Protection FAQ explains...

Is coverage only available when I ship to a confirmed address?

You must ship the item to the shipping address on the Transaction Details page, and the transaction must be marked eligible or partially eligible.

Items sold on eBay will be marked eligible even if the shipping address is unconfirmed.

Items sold on websites other than eBay will generally be marked eligible if the shipping address is confirmed, and partially eligible if the shipping address is unconfirmed.

If an item is marked eligible, protection will be granted for both unauthorized payment and item not received disputes.

If an item is marked partially eligible, protection will be granted for item not received disputes only.

The PayPal Seller Protection FAQ page is at the following link...

You can spin it any way you want to Sandy, I got ripped off and PayPal did nothing but sit by and watch it happen.

Who gives a Rats Azz what was sold; the man got the item, signed for it, and used it to buy a GPS. PayPal can rot in as far as I’m concerned. It’s quite a racket PayPal has going, I’ll give them that.

You sold an item that wasn't covered?

It is like being angry at your home insurer for not covering you for the flood damage which is specifically excluded in your policy.

It is always best to actually read the policies that you think cover you so you know what they cover and what they don't.

Gift Cards are on of the highest fraud items around and paypal doesn't want to take on that risk.

They are perfectly happy to let you as an adult take on that risk.

If that's the case then eBay should ban selling of gift cards, not say its perfectly fine, then don't do a thing to help with fraud. They are cool with taking your cash but will not cover you for fraud...that's totally unethical.
