In the next few weeks we will be introducing several enhancements to My eBay. Many of these enhancements are based on Community feedback that we received during the Beta period and after the rollout of My eBay 2.0.
Changes include:
* Adding totals for the Bidding, Won, Sold, and Selling sections on the My Summary, All Selling & All Buying pages. Members can adjust the location of the totals on the page, or remove them.
* Adding a more visible relist status icon to the Sold and Unsold sections, with the ability to add or remove the column.
* Adding an Auction Format column to the Sold section. Members will be able to choose whether to include or remove this column.
* Changing the color of the status icons slightly to make them more distinguishable on the screen and in the ‘Print’ view.
* Removing the bold font from the Item Title in all sections.
* Faster loading of My eBay pages
We are also working to allow you to hide or show the Buying and Selling Reminders on your Summary page. This will be available several weeks after the enhancements above have been introduced.
We appreciate all the feedback that members have provided so far, and encourage members to continue posting their comments and questions on this thread.
Regards,
eBay
Tips for using My eBay 2.0
Default Landing Page
If you would like to "land" on a specific view in the new My eBay other than the "My Summary" page, you can switch your landing page in the "My eBay Preferences" area. To do that, click on "eBay Preferences", and you'll find "My eBay Preferences" at or near the bottom of the page. Just select your desired landing page in the "Default opening page" selector and click "Apply".
Time Left vs. End Time
Auction end times display in "Time Left" format (days, hours, minutes) by default in many views. To switch your views to show ‘End Time’, (absolute time, Pacific time zone), you can change this preference in the "My eBay Preferences" section on the eBay Preferences page.
Horizontal scrolling
If you are getting horizontal scrolling or would just like more room, there are a few things you can do:
1. Remove columns you don't want or need by customizing your views (select "Customize" at the top right of each table).
2. Also on the "Customize" page, some tables have an option for "Item title on its own row" - that will move the item information below the item title and the view won't take up as much horizontal space.
3. Increase your screen resolution from the Control Panel on your computer
Rearrange your tables on the Summary Page
If you would like a different arrangement of the information on the Summary page, or would like to remove or add different information, you can do that on the "Customize Summary" page. The Customize Summary link can be found at the top of the My Summary page. You can move the containers on the page up or down, add new ones (almost anything that's in My eBay), or remove them (some can't be removed at this time). We will be adding the ability to remove the buying and selling reminders in the next several weeks.
Missing Totals
If you are having difficulty finding the totals for the items you are selling, have sold, are bidding on or have won, these can be found by going to the individual pages from the left navigation. (For example: if you want to see the total of all items you have sold for a particular time period, go to the ‘Sold’ link from the left navigation and at the top of the page, you will see a section called ‘Sold Totals’.
For views with totals, the totals will appear above the tables by default. If you'd like them to appear beneath the tables, just click the down arrow in the totals container and it will flip underneath the table.
Again, we will be adding back totals to all the My eBay item views in the next few weeks. Thank you for your patience while we make these updates.
Seeing More Items per page
You can customize the number of items that appear per page depending on the page you are viewing.
On the My Summary page, you can see up to 25 items per table by changing the setting from the ‘Customize Summary’ page (mentioned above).
For all other My eBay pages, (Bidding, Won, Selling, Sold, etc) you can view up to 200 items per table. In order to change the number of items per table in the other views, you will need to go into the ‘Customize’ page from the top of each table. Again, you can only view 25 items from the My Summary so if you need to see more per table, you can set your default landing page to go to any of the other views from the eBay Preferences page.
Sorting
To sort by different pieces of information, just click linked column headings. Repeat clicks will invert the sort (ascending <-> descending). A little triangle will appear next to the heading that is the current sort (pointing up = ascending, pointing down = descending).
Pictures
The "Items I'm Watching" and "Items I'm Bidding On" views can display pictures in the table. If you would like to turn off the pictures so they don't display, you can do that on the "Customize" page for each table.
Printing
The new My eBay offers printer-friendly versions of each view. To see them, just click the little "Print" link at the top-right of each view. (You'll use your browser's "print" function to do the actual printing.) If the information prints off the page, try setting your Page Setup to print by landscape. You can do this from the browser ‘File’ menu, then go to ‘Page Setup.
We hope these tips help you get your new My eBay page set up the way that you want to view it. We appreciate all of your feedback on the new product. Keep your suggestions coming!
