I re-read what I wrote, and it really doesn't say what I am trying to explain..bare w/me/
I am using my serger. And I have the option 2..3 ..and four threads. On the 4 thraeds. I change all my tension dials to what should be used for that typical fabric.
On some say a 3 thread ultra strtcg mock safety stich and/or 2 thread overedge..its says for an example:
Lower looper a 5... on the tension dial... but for the upper looper is states use converter..that is what I am iffy about. I am doing well when I dont have to use a converter all other overedges when not stating a converter. But this is really confussing me on what it could possibly be. Any suggestion?

My machine came with one, I have never used it because I don't use the 2 thread option. Check in your owners book. It is something that should have been in the accesory package with the machine.

On my Superlock, it comes with a built-in pocket for the 2-thread convertor (don't need one for 3 or 4 threads). In the first part of the manual, it shows how to remove my convertor, raise the needle to its highest point, and attach it to the upper looper. When I lower the lever the convertor locks in place.

See if your identification chart of your machine in the front of your manual doesn't list a convertor, and give a detailed description of how to use it.

Hi Thanks for the replies..
No I dont see anything in my accer...on a converter.
I do have in it is 2 thread adapter? Could that be something for it?
If not, I will just stick to 3 and 4 threads.
I just thought a 2 thread would be good for something very thin...But oh well..
How do you guys secure your thread? Its not like I go back wards like a sewing machine...Or on a serger you dont not need reinforcement?

The adapter sounds like it does the same thing as the convertor -- especially if it's designed for use with 2 threads.

My serger does a locking stitch, so I don't back tack anything.

For a narrow hem, I use my rolled hem foot & needle plate. Works great on thin fabric edges.
