Sell them as vaporizers...large sellers can get away with things and you might find a few listings for e cigarettes which quite honestly surprised me that it appears they aren't really allowed but you can find plenty as vaporizers for oil as well as plenty of things for wax...go figure...only on eBay.

And yet...

A mere 9,000 listings. Boy, it must really be hard for eBay to find them.

Perhaps it is like speeding. You can get away with it for a
little while, but eventually the policy will change or the sellers
of such items will get notices to quit.

This topic should be posted on Seller Central, not the FEEDBACK board.

As long as they're selling and Ebay is making money, a little turn of the head won't matter.

What a joke, LOL.

I guess eBay has it's legal reasons. eCigs are a fairly new thing- and may have horrid side-effects- but maybe not seen for another 20 years.

eBay has posted their policy- and there's a "Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing" disclaimer attached to every item sold on eBay. Looks like they have their bases covered.

A seller can likely get away with selling eCigs- but they're violating policy.

I doubt eBay will allow someone to open, "The eCig Store."

What is REALLY funny is that e-cigs are NOT a tobacco product at all.  There is NO tobacco involved in e-cigs whatsoever.  Nictotine is the only sustance that is associated with and analog and e-cigs and nicotine is added to tobacco as it is not found naturally in tobacco.

The FDA has lumped the e-cig industry into the tobacco industry because they are too stupid to do their research on them.

E-cigs have been around for 10 years and UCLA is doing quite a study on them recently.  The only product in e-cigs that is questionalble is PG (polyethylene glycol) which has not been known to cause any significant problems,  so the best e-cig companies have switched over to VG (vegetable glycerin) which have no known side effects. The second is Nicotine has been studied since 1946 and the ONLY TWO side effects is addiction and increased cognitive function.

I do agree that eCigs are the lesser of two evils- but that's not the subject. eBay (per stated policy) doesn't allow the sale of eCigs...  then again, sellers are responsible for their listings.

ah, nicotine liquid is a deadly poison, which a small dose can kill

and there's age limits in most states

Cocaine has been around for about a hundred and twenty, and was once considered safe enough to be legal, and even incorporated in Coca-Cola.

I'm aware of more ignorance than eBay's. E-cigarettes use nicotine, of which as little as 30mg. may be a fatal dose for an adult. "questionable" seems pretty mild for that. A cigarette contains around one mg., and the reason smoking thirty or more cigarettes a day doesn't cause anyone to decease in the short term is that most of the nicotine is destroyed by heat.

The devices we see sold on eBay by those willing to cheat on policy are obviously amateur designs. We don't have any idea of the extent to which they carbonise the nicotine, or if that can be altered by different conditions of use. There is a distinct possibility of departing for territory from which it is even more difficult than usual to sue an eBay seller.

That is if they obtain pharmaceutical grade nicotine of known strength, which as most countries now ban its former use as an insecticide, is hard to get. You don't have to go far to find websites on hair-raising receipes for people to obtain or make their own nicotine, often with chemicals other than those you name. There must be some real weak-willed losers out there.

Those auctions will only disappear if people report them. Leaving aside what you may be doing to yourself with this means of serving your addiction, anybody ready to commit for money one breach of the policies he agreed to observe, is surely likely to find others.

E-cigs do not contain nicotine.

E-cigs are simply batteries.

It's the pre-filled cartridges or the juice that contains the nicotine.

Banning the e-cigs themselves is ridiculous. It's a ban on batteries.

Using this logic, maybe eBay should allow the sale of bongs and syringes.

And hashish pipes don't contain hashish but they're a delivery system and considered accessories so they're not allowed either. (except in antiquities)

You can't list cigarette papers either, unless they're vintage collectibles.

Are you seriously comparing an e-cig battery to drug paraphernalia?

E-cigs are helping millions of people.

One of my brothers has chronic bronchitis and was smoking over 2 packs a day. He was coughing constantly and having a hard time breathing. He couldn't even exercise and was putting on weight because of that. He's only in his 30's.

He tried everything to quit smoking - gum, patches, hypnotism - everything. Nothing worked for him.

He switched to e-cigs a little over a year ago.

He no longer coughs. He no longer has problems breathing. He says he feels better than he has in years.

His doctor would still like him to quit altogether but also told him that the switch probably added decades to his life. His bronchitis problem is about 15-20% of what it was when he was smoking cigarettes. He works out every day now, has lost weight and his cholesteral level has gone way down.

Please show me all the people that illegal drugs are helping in this way and then your ridiculous comparison might have some crediblity.

Ditto.  Same thing happened to my husband.  He really didn't want to quit,  but my asthma would kick in just being close to him,  so I purchased a e-cig kit and asked him to try it.  It took him two weeks and he was free of the analogs.  This was in February.  He no longer coughs or reeks of smoke, has more energy and I benefit as well.

While pure nicotine is a poison,  only a small diluted dose is used in the pre-filled cartomizers or liquid e-juices.  I can certainly understand why ebay won't allow anything containing nicotine to be sold,  but the batteries,  cases or tips should be allowed.   Water pipes, pipes and bongs are legal to purchase in most places but the the illegal substances used in them aren't.

The debate here is why these items can't be sold on ebay.  The clincher is that most purchases of these items require that a person must be 18 to buy them which puts ebay in a quandry since ebay can't control the age of the buyer or the various items relating to the use of each item.

Who said anything about illegal drugs? A bong is a means to administer medical marijuana; and syringes are used for insulin. But they're still not allowed to be sold on eBay
