Questions about a bear

Questions about a bear

No pics yet, as he just arrived, and my dd took off with the camera.

My neighbor gave me a bear that she said is 82 yo. I wasn't here when she brought him, so I couldn't ask, but she must've gotten him as a very young child, as that is about her age.

VERY cute. I tried to research, using the links in the pinned post, but most of the links I tried to go to were broken, so I'm hoping someone can help me get started.

Do bears have marks on them that I should be looking for? I don't see tags on him. He is seated, and has feet that look like they are covered in felt on the bottom. Cutest thing is that his tail has a metal thingy in it that when you move it, his head turns....kind of a mechanical bear.

He's big, too. Probably about 2 feet.

What should I be looking for, as far as identification? I can post pics later, when I get the camera, but wanted to try to get started some on my own too.

Thanks in advance for the help,
Lisa

She's pretty firm about it, according to the neighbor, but I'll agree, memories are odd things, so anything is possible.

Thanks for all the help. I'm going to have to put some work into putting together a listing. I bow to all of your expertise.

A listing? You are not going to keep that gorgeous bear?

Oh no! He's not mine. He belongs to my neighbor, or maybe he still belongs to her daughter's MIL, I'm not sure, but he's definitely not mine. The MIL was throwing him in the trash when my neighbor rescued him. Can you imagine? He's too cute for that!
