What is this 9" carved stone? Jade? Chinese? Trivet?

Hi,

I am hoping someone might know what this is?  My first thought is a trivet, it measures 9"

diameter.

The design is dragons, perhaps Chinese?  First though was Mayan but now I don't think so.

Last, what is the stone?  Is it jade, some sort of onyx?

Any help greatly appreciated!  Also, approximate age would be nice too!IMG_4052.jpgIMG_4055.JPGIMG_4056.JPGIMG_4057.jpgIMG_4058.jpgIMG_4063.JPG

what is the size?
if this is soapstone,it is very soft, you can scratch it easily,
my guess is it is either nephrite jade or some hardstone.
Chinese would not use this for trivet, could be a disc, ceremonial disc but looks like a modern day repro, you see a lot of these carvings in HK jade market

sorry, just noticed these messages!  Yes, 9" diameter.  It is very hard, not soft.  Cold to the touch like stone or rock might be.
