Itemizing and insuring your collection

I'm wondering how many people insure their collections and how they go about doing it?  I've been collecting antique tools for 25 years and I'm at the point where I'd be devastated if something happened to my collection (stolen, fire, etc).  I have about 800 individual tools that would need to be inventoried and appraised.  What are the rest of you doing?  Is there a particular software you are using?  Is it added to your home owners policy or through a seperate policy?  Thanks for reading.

Many people here are trying hard not to collect, but to sell...   Smiley Happy

But there is lots of info out there, and you might want to start here if you are relucant to just ask your current insurer for some reason:

Check for apps that have done most of the work for you. You mostly snap a pic, brief description with a current value  and you are ready to go.
