Can anyone tell me if this is a 1600's pewter mark? It looks like a Crown over a Rose, found on the underside of a 7-1/4 inch diameter pewter plate or shallow bowl which weighs 12 ounces. First picture shows the underside with a inset blow up of the mark. I'll post the top side separately. Thanks!

I don't know pewter, but I would say no, based on the bit of info here:
I don't, however, see your mark on that page.
Hopefully, someone who knows pewter will come along soon.

the form is called Bishop's Hat.
the London mark is a problem, because it was also used as a mark of quality, London Quality being the best around.
the rose certainly hints to England although those marks were also used in Northern German states.
the color and evenness of the surface do not look earlier than 1850s to me.

OP,
Check the listings for pewter plates over on the eBay UK site, there's a couple lof listings for plates bearing that same London mark, with the Crown & Rose.
Neither seller gives the manufacturer of the plates.?
