Hi everyone, I recently acquired two old asian figurines, and I am stumped as to the material, age, country of origin, subject, etc. They look somewhat similar to Thai Teppanom or "Beautiful Being" representations I've seen in my research, but haven't found any similar figurines in my hours of internet searches yet. The only provenance provided by the previous owner is that they were purchased in Europe in the 60's. They are both 9" tall, and weigh appx. 225 grams each. When tapped, I think they sound like stone, or ceramic, but am just taking a wild guess. I see possible saw or tool marks on the bottom of both. The male figure is standing on a smaller man's back, the female is on a goat's back. No maker's marks or text anywhere. I would be very excited to find out if I have anything to be excited about! or just happy to be informed if they're tourist trinkets of aesthetic value only. Thank You in advance for any information.
