We’ve updated our “certified refurbished” program to ensure that buyers are able to find and purchase like-new refurbished inventory in select categories with confidence on eBay, and reduce “item not as described” returns for qualified sellers. From October 9, 2020, items listed as certified refurbished need to meet our updated item condition requirements and be approved by our certified refurbished team. Qualified eBay sellers are permitted to use the new condition, certified refurbished, in their listings, including subtitles, product descriptions, and titles.
Certified refurbished program qualifications
To qualify for the certified refurbished program, items must meet the following condition requirements:
Inventory that does not meet all of the above condition requirements should be listed as “seller refurbished” and can’t use “certified refurbished” or any similar terms on the listings’ title, subtitle, description, and/or item specifics.
A seller refurbished item has been restored to working order by the eBay seller or a third party. This means the item was inspected, cleaned, and repaired to full working order and is in excellent condition. This item may or may not be in original packaging. Learn more.
