The major U.S. carriers have announced their 2026 rate updates. As always, eBay continues working closely with our carrier partners to secure increases that are lower than standard commercial or retail rates, helping keep eBay Labels pricing as competitive as possible.
Below is an overview of how these updates will impact eBay Labels, so you know what to expect when shipping in the year ahead.
United States Postal Service (USPS)
USPS peak pricing rates currently in place will end and the new rates outlined below will take effect on January 18, 2026. We recommend double-checking your package weights and zones to understand how these changes may affect your shipping costs. The eBay shipping calculator will automatically update when the new rates go live.
Average rate increases
- Ground Advantage: 7.7%
- Priority Mail: 4.1%
- Priority Mail Express: 4.9%
There are no rate increases for:
- Media Mail
- eBay Standard Envelope
2026 Nonstandard Fees
Ground Advantage
- Nonstandard length between 22” and 30”: $4.50
- Nonstandard length greater than 30”: $10.00
- Nonstandard volume greater than 2 cubic feet: $21.00
- Dimension noncompliance fee: $3.00
- Nonstandard characteristic: $4.50
Priority Mail & Priority Mail Express
- Nonstandard length between 22” and 30”: $4.50
- Nonstandard length greater than 30”: $21.00
- Nonstandard volume greater than 2 cubic feet: $35.00
- Dimension noncompliance fee: $3.00
- Nonstandard characteristic: $4.50

FedEx
FedEx 2026 rate increases take effect on January 5, 2026 for all services, except FedEx 2Day One Rate, which will increase on January 19, 2026.
Average rate increases
- FedEx Ground services: 5.2%
- FedEx Express services: 5.4%
Changes to surcharge criteria
As of January 12, 2026, FedEx introduced additional criteria to how it assesses the Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension and the Oversize Charge. In addition to existing criteria:
- Packages measuring greater than 10,368 inches cubic volume will be charged an Additional Handling Surcharge
- Packages measuring greater than 17,280 inches in cubic volume will be charged an Oversize Charge
- Packages with an actual weight greater than 110 pounds will be charged an Oversize charge
This shift changes how surcharges are determined and can materially impact how certain packages are classified and priced. We encourage you to review how FedEx will calculate these surcharges and refer to the official FedEx announcement for complete details.
UPS
As of now, there are no announced rate changes to 2026 UPS shipping rates on eBay. However, effective December 22, 2025, UPS rolled out its surcharge rate updates.
Changes to surcharge criteria
As of January 26, 2026, UPS introduced additional criteria to how it assesses the Domestic Additional Handling Charge – Dimension and the Domestic Large Package Surcharge. In addition to existing criteria:
- Packages measuring greater than 10,368 inches cubic volume will be charged an Additional Handling Surcharge
- Packages measuring greater than 17,280 inches in cubic volume will be charged a Large Package Surcharge
- Packages with an actual weight greater than 110 pounds will be charged a Large Package Surcharge
