Work in progress

Okay, I did a bona fide search for the work-in-progress thread and couldn't find it. I know we had one here someplace, but it's probably in the fridge behind the mayonnaise (which my husband can never find even if it's right in front of his eyes), along with the missing TV remote and occasionally my cell phone. Since I've used up most of my allotment of verbage, I'll just post a link to where you can see my current WIP so lazy-yours-truly doesn't have to type it all over again. Just click on the pic: heron watercolour I'll probably list it on the weekend along with some other things.

Re: Work in progress

Thank you! It felt good to get back to painting. I still have some reorganizing to do in the studio, but I love being able to sneak away and work where it's quiet.

Awesome Karen. Thank you so much for sharing this. For each WIP you start a new thread. So this is great. Looking forward to more. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!

Yes, Heather really is remarkable in that disguise. Amazing what she can do with make-up 🙂

Re: Work in progress

Here are two that I am working on .... Irish Mermaid: Woodland Fairy: This one is my second attempt at doing watercolors without inking in the lines first. I am enjoying how it is turning out so far! -- ~Faerydae Click to grow:

Re: Work in progress

That second one is GORGEOUS. Love the colors. I can't believe you did that with watercolors. I would have sworn that was colored pencil. Wish I could make my watercolors do that! Beautiful job. :) -- Kathy

Re: Work in progress

aww thank you! Well, it's watercolor pencils ... I could *never* do that with pans. Tubes, I could, but the pencils REALLY help! I also used white india ink as a wash to smooth out her skin tones and do some highlights, and a touch of tubed watercolors for various hues that the pencils didn't have. I still have to do the darker bits, and refine parts of it ... and add in a few other highlights and details, and some of that will be done with inks and colored pencils. She'll be a grab bag of mediums by the time she is done lol. The irony is she likely won't even sell ... that's the kicker. LOL! None of my really nice paintings ever sell. And I mean nice in that the coloring is technically and artistically somewhat decent. The stuff I actually take the most time on and put the most effort in *never* sells. So I try to make sure it's at least something *I* will like to have around, as it's gonna be hanging around me for a while. hehehe! -- ~Faerydae Click to grow: -- Edited by elfwitchshop at 05/06/2010 1:25 PM PDT
