The Part Timers Forum used to have an on-going thread about posts that were odd/funny/stooopid/contained weird CS answers ~ or just generally considered silly or outrageous. The OP of the thread was "the medic", so while the PT group is still kickin', I thought it would be fun to start another similar thread.
Readers, if you run across a post, comment, feedback, etc., that is "off the beaten path", please add it to this thread. I read the community almost every day and will contribute when something catches my eye. Just something to break up the boredom of listing, revising, answering questions, and working around the eBay listing glitches ~ or waiting for something to sell

I'm following a thread now on the seller board
Buyer opens a SNAD (empty envelope) on item that hasn't been received yet
Buyer finally admits that they have the wrong seller
CS tells seller "Work it out with the buyer", they won't close the case 😞

3 months after I filed a non-payment, I get this request.
"Is this still available? I couldn't pay for it, I was in jail"

A few years ago, I received the most unusual fb.
You know when you list something New with tag......in the item Specifics, under Condition.
New with tag (including Handmade items)
They left me a fb that they were missing their "Handmade item".
lol. I had to read that one a few times.

A couple of "interesting" feedbacks left:
hate ebay!
Seller must be dead, incapacitated, or in Jail. I am not the only victim.

TRS discount denied because of holiday return policy
Subject of a post ^^^ ~ Holiday Return Policy is still showing as a requirement for TRS on sellers dashboard ~ there is no holiday return policy this year and last year it was voluntary ~ Seller finally prevailed after numerous calls to CS, whose comment was:
These things happen.......
Apparently eBay tests their code in production.

Federal Holidays Calculated as Estimated Delivery Dates
The shipping method on all my orders is USPS First Class Package. Why was did some of my orders show an estimated delivery date of Monday, October 12th Columbus Day (Federal Holiday)? This date was on Order Details page.
Estimated delivery date, not guaranteed delivery date. The window is just that. Why did it include the 12th? Don't know actually. We (eBay) wouldn't hold a seller responsible for delivery on a USPS holiday. If you want, you can send me a screen shot of the order details at griff@ebay.com using regular email, no My Messages or Community messages and I will forward it to our shipping team for their attention.

Saved the best one (so far....) for last:
Epic fail on eBay's part: This is excerpted from an email I just got from them. No, I do not want to sell my children on eBay. I think that is against your terms of service!

Two comments that made me laugh while I was out and about on the boards:
ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ
and...an eBay Blue posed a question about volunteers for a "mentor program" for new sellers ~ this was one of the responses, which btw, garnered 25 kudos!
I couldn't possibly do this. I don't speak Chinese...

Not sure if this is funny or sad.....

I have an issue with the placement of eBay's new "promoted listings".
We have all had to deal with the "ads" which are OBVIOUSLY ads showing up on all our pages, but that's the way it is.
The issue with THESE 'promoted listings' is that they appear on a search result of a seller's items in exactly the same FORMAT as the seller's actual listings, with nothing to show that they are NOT the seller's listings. I do NOT want my potential buyers who are doing a search on MY other items to think these are MY listings.
I have no issue with these 'promoted listings' showing up in general search results but NOT when searching within a specific seller's items when they do NOT belong there EVER.
Can you tell me if this is intentional or a glitch?
This is what comes up on a search under MY items for a teddie. I do NOT sell sleazy lingerie TYVM. Where does it indicate these are NOT MY listings? Nowhere.
It is intentional, it's not a glitch. It is not subject to change.

I remember that one with Looking. Pretty frustrating.
Also, know of a buyer that was told no, she couldn't buy. "US buyers only", the seller said.
But she was in "New" Mexico.

No surprise here, I have cats.
So, it still surprised me, when someone asked if my cats had p*ssed on a particular shirt.
I did not respond, and blocked immediately.
