Please help identify these vintage doll clothes (Barbie Ken Vogue??). THANK YOU!
Hi, thanks for looking. I can't ID the small, apparently Barbie Ken doll size, striped navy blue & yellow gold jacket & hat. It doesn't show up on Google Search, or on vintage Barbie & Ken sites. It came with a vintage lot from the 1960s and 1970s and the jacket is 3 1/2" long. Thank you. The thick soft white jacket with violet trim is for a larger doll and is 6" long, Also vintage from the 1950, 1960s or 70s. I got it with other Vogue & Ginny type doll clothes and it should be easy to identify but the only one that I can find online is misidentified as a Ken bathrobe. Please help if you can. Much Appreciated!

OP2 years agoI'm so glad to hear from you and to know that you are still identifying items?? Thank you very much. I actually have other pieces that go with several of these items that you have correctly identified. You always amaze me. I don't post a request until after I spend a good bit of time uncuccessfully researching them myself, and no one else was able to correctly ID these items. Great Job and Thank You!!
PS I still have several vintage doll items to go through from an estate lot, so I'm sure I'll be posting again and hoping to hear back form you.

·2 years agoI didn't notice any tags on the inside of these items. So I agree with monroe67 that they were probably made by someone. And by other half is a big collector.

·2 years agoMy two sisters and I got Barbie dolls from Santa in 1959, the first year they were mass marketed. Unfortunately, we could not foresee the future and none of us are independently wealthy now -- at least not from selling our original Barbies.
A few years before then, I received a Ginny doll and a couple outfits for her on my fifth birthday in the mid-1950s.
Barbie and Ginny are very different dolls. Barbie is an adult doll with an unrealistic body shape and Ginny is a four- or five-year-old little girl doll.
Beginning in 1960, or possibly even in 1959, the sewing pattern companies Simplicity and McCall's began offering patterns to make doll clothes that would fit Barbies and other "fashion dolls." Patterns for sewing Ginny doll clothes were also available before Barbies came along.
It seems at least a possibility that that white jacket is for a Ginny doll, compared to the size of the striped jacket and stocking cap for Ken. AND it is also possible that some of the doll clothes you received in that lot were made, using a 10c pattern and leftover dress fabric, by moms and grandmas on their home sewing machines. If so, they may be virtually impossible to identify, as they are not "official" Barbie or Ginny products.
