MILITARY category in Models. PLEASE bring it back!!!!
I've been a seller since almost the beginning. I've seen Ebay make some good and bad changes. Lumping the entire Military model category into Automotive is the absolute worst by far. My built 1/35 models after a week are all below 15 views where in the past after a few days track 50 to over a hundred and sell quickly. The buyer is overwhelmed in the model category to find ANYTHING without an exact key word, forget just going through the list to find something interesting in a particular genre. Was this done to appease political correctness, those who do not like the military? Or just to get sellers with forced dead sales to spend an extra 15.00 for the PROMOTE listing, that has not worked?? TOY/HOBBIES-Models-(land/sea/air). PLEASE eBay, do the right thing and bring it back! Was wondering why so many are posting military models on Esty, FB marketplace and others. I'd like to stay on Ebay but you're running us out of business!!! nb405

Posting on these boards will not get ebay's attention. eBay messed up several category and sub category options for sellers about a year and a half ago. Despite many complaints has decided not to fix or change them. In your category of military vehicles instead of selecting Automotive, try using Other models and kits, you may get a couple more sub categories. If not at least using Key words like Tank(s) Armored Personal Carrier ... etc. may help in general searches of model kits. If an army vehicle has a name adding that to a description will help.
Ex: your listing for 1/35 US M1117 ASU / Trumpeter / new sealed. (It is an ASV by the way)
Might get more views if it were titled:
Trumpeter, US Army M1117 Guardian ASV, plastic model kit NIB. _ Category - Other Models and kits. I always put a models MFR. Name first, use the model's name as well as numeric nomenclature, If there is room enough change ASV to Armored Security Vehicle. Use commas instead of forward slashes in titles.

Who was the kit Mfr? Modelers know some Mfr's kits are more detailed and are over all better kits than others.
Serious scale modelers use 1:35 not 1/35 to denote scale.
What does Pro Built, have to do with search terms? Free Shipping in a title is ok, but not at the expense of other key words or info.
The description is a bit short, but pretty good, however if you used any aftermarket detail parts or decals in the build they should be mentioned. That is an appropriate place to add Pro Built and mention weathering and airbrushing.
Last one:
Title; Lot of 1/350 US Navy Masts and Structural parts.
If they were all from Trumpeter kits then it should be in the title. Since the parts seem to be from the WWII era, that could be added to the title. So could mentioning Battleships BBs, DDs, DEs etc.
My Title would have been:
Lot of 1:350 Trumpeter, ship's masts deck sections & superstructure parts from WWII Era US BBs & DEs ... kits.
Photos; I would have separated out the parts from the Arizona, Texas, and others for separate photos with a card in them giving the ship's or class name(s) You have 12 photos available, but used only 4, with all of the parts jumbled together.
Description: One sentence doesn't work for a listing like that. If you know the names of the ships the parts came from Name them and add which photo number(s) are the parts for that model. Mentioning if parts were glued and then removed or had parts is important to avoid a not as described dispute.
The most important change you can make to get better search placement in the very crowded categories you list in, would be to HAVE A RETURN POLICY!!! A No Return policy lowers your search placement, and will not fly in the face of ebay's Money Back Guarantee. You may be able to qualify for Top Rated status as well if you add a return policy, which would also give you some discounts.

·3 years agoMany categories are lumped together. My loose Octonauts figures are listed in the same category as my 12" gi joe and 3 3/4 gi joe and my X-men figures. They lumped all figures into action figures. The only thing that you can do is have a great title so that your items show up if the buyer types Military model. Goodluck.
