Madam Alexander dolls and such
I have a collection of old dolls and I'm just wondering if there was any value to any of them , my sister passed away and I was left not knowing what to do with any of her baby dolls, but I remember her saying several times that a couple of her babydolls could pay the rent if need be. It never accursed to me that they were worth anything . But I'm a guy , what do I know about babydolls

·2 years agoGood luck, and if you need more help there are members here who can help with IDs, and photos of faces backs of heads and costumes will help. So will height measurement.
There is also an ebay Special Interest group dedicated to dolls. (link below) However how many people are members who check the group daily may be low, so answers may take awhile to be posted. You may want to bookmark the links to both this board and the Special Interest one for quicker access to them.

·2 years agoIt's impossible to offer an informed opinion without seeing pictures of the dolls. It's doubtful that the entire collection is Madame Alexander, and even if it is there are huge differences in value between different MA dolls. While there are a very few MA baby dolls that might pay the rent, you also need to consider that doll prices have, in general, declined over the past few years.
I recommend you start by do some rudimentary research on ID'ing the dolls. These two sites are good for identifying Madame Alexander. Pay close attention to the markings, as that's what you'll use to determine the doll's maker:

·2 years agoYou can try looking at a search of active listings for similar dolls, to get an idea of how many are available. Then take a look at completed listings, to get an idea of how many are selling, and for how much.
This completed items search is sorted with most expensive first, so don't get too excited. It looks like there were sets of quintuplet dolls, and if they are still all together and complete/original, they do bring a fair amount. Some of the rare and unusual ones do as well. But some higher priced ones have repeatedly not sold.
