A UK Buyer Purchased A Toy From Me...The Mailing Address in the U.S. Is Suspect. What To Do?
Hi, Hope you all had a happy and prosperous December. I didn't but I hope you did. 🙂
Is it safe for me to ship an item to a sketchy address in the U.S. for a UK buyer? Will eBay/PayPal have my back so long as I have delivery confirmation that the item was sent there? I know the eBay Center in Kentucky was closed due to the natural disaster(s) that hit Kentucky. But where is the new eBay Center? When I look up the provided address to ship to, it is an empty warehouse...

·3 years agoYou should be protected by the Ebay International program. But if the buyer opens an item not as described case, the seller is still responsible.

·3 years agoJust curious how you know the warehouse is empty? It's quite likely a freight forwarding warehouse. A growing number of international buyers are using US-based freight forwarding services.
In any event, as long as you ship to the address eBay gives you you're covered. And the shipping center in Kentucky was run by Pitney Bowes, not eBay, and would only come into play if you were shipping using the Global Shipping Program.

OP3 years agoHi, kathiec, I am using the Global Shipping Program. That is why I am confused. And I did an internet search of the address and it is a "For Lease" warehouse. Maybe the Global Shipping Program, whoever is running it (Pitney Bowes or otherwise), has now leased it.

·3 years agoEbay is replacing the GSP with INTERNATIONAL SHipping something and the ship to location is in Illinois if I recall correctly from another post.

OP3 years agoThank you, you are right. This is the address I shipped to:
110 Internationale Blvd,
Glendale Heights, Illinois 60139-2080
When I Google searched that address, it was shown to be a building for lease.

·3 years agoInformation about buildings, land, etc., that you find on Google is often horrendously wrong. Google shows the house I lived in for 25 years as being owned by my ex-husbands first wife, who never even lived in that town, lol. Google also says my 25 year old daughter is actually 31, lol. So I wouldn’t take something you see on Google as gospel.
On that same note, nearly 100% of the phone numbers you find on Google claiming to be “eBay customer service†are actually scams.
