Trading API: How to sync seller-sent messages? MyMessages only returning buyer messages
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to sync all eBay messages into our system, but I’m only able to pull messages sent by buyers/customers. Seller-sent messages are missing. I’m using the Trading API (GetMemberMessages + GetMyMessages).
What I’m doing
1) For member messages:
- Call GetMemberMessages with MailMessageType = AskSellerQuestion and MessageType = All.
- Paginate until HasMoreItems is false.
2) For MyMessages:
- Call GetMyMessages twice: once with FolderID = 0 (Inbox) and once with FolderID = 1 (Sent).
- Paginate using Pagination.PageNumber until HasMoreItems is false.

What I see
- Inbox (FolderID=0) returns buyer messages.
- Sent (FolderID=1) is empty (or only system items), so my own outbound messages never appear.
- GetMemberMessages returns buyer → seller threads but not my outbound messages.
Questions
1) Is there an additional parameter or different API I must call to retrieve seller-sent messages?
2) Are Trading “sent” messages only accessible via MyMessages with a different FolderID or filter?
3) If seller-sent messages are not exposed via Trading, is there a recommended approach (e.g., Sell Communications API, other endpoint) to fetch them?
