Developer Account Rejected
Summary: The discussion is about a developer account being rejected. redlineresale91 mentions this issue but doesn't provide any details. developer-support@ebay.com responds, likely seeking more information, and redlineresale91 replies yet again with no further information. The thread lacks specific details or context about the issue or possible resolutions.
Ive been on ebay for years and in the last year started to do reselling and I decided I wanted to heavily invest my time into trying to turn this into a full time gig with the reselling, I am creating my own inventory app to help me keep track of where all the items are located, Then I thought if I could turn the inventory app into a way to also list the items for me as well, I use Crosslist to post my items on ebay and use the AI features it has so I figured I would code my app to do the same basic stuff for me and a few other key caveats that I wanted to see but of course I need to get the API in order for this to work.
I created the account with my same ebay username and email, and had it send the validation email which I got and clicked on right away and got the message that they take up to 1 bussienss day to review the submissions. I decided to check back tonight and saw I was denied, Never got an email or anything and only found out when I tried to log in and welcomed with a message:
"Your account registration was rejected due to problems with the data provided or other irregularities. If you believe this rejection is in error, please see our FAQs and Contact Channels page or work with your eBay representative directly."
I tried to appeal and filled out the text box with a whole paragraph explaining how I planned to use the API and sent it and not even a minute after I sent the appeal I get an email from ebay saying:
"We’re reaching out to provide an update on your eBay developer account activation. Following our review, we’re unable to approve activation at this time.
As part of eBay’s standard evaluation process, developer accounts are assessed against internal eligibility and risk controls. Based on this assessment, your request does not meet the criteria required for activation. These controls help protect our platform and community, and while we cannot share specific details of the evaluation, decisions are made in accordance with eBay’s policies.
You may consider reapplying at a later time.
Thank you for your understanding.

eBay Developers Program"
I did a quick search and it seems ebay is basically rejecting everyone that applies to it? Has anyone had any luck on getting in? I saw another post back in March where a user tagged a eBay employee and they replied back to have the OP email the Dev team and they could further help them, however there is no way you can email the developer support team, as it forces you to try and log in and well obviously that isnt working.
Anyone have any updates or who I can try and contact to about this? It sucks eBay advertises the program, yet appears they just blanket reject everyone that applies.

OP2 months agoLike I explained in the post I already did that, I wrote a small essay pointing out exactly what I was using the API for and not even 2 minutes after I submitted that, I got an email from ebay saying:
