·4 days agoThis just seems like a black hole. Called a few times. Did receive a message to try the Developer Account Support and select the my account registration was rejected option and then received an email stating the following.
Hello wlcollectiblesllc,
We’re reaching out to provide an update on your eBay developer account activation. Following our review, we’re unable to approve activation at this time.
As part of eBay’s standard evaluation process, developer accounts are assessed against internal eligibility and risk controls. Based on this assessment, your request does not meet the criteria required for activation. These controls help protect our platform and community, and while we cannot share specific details of the evaluation, decisions are made in accordance with eBay’s policies.
You may consider reapplying at a later time.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
eBay Developers Program
I just feel like ebay is missing out on supporting something like this. I have built the bulk upload checklist and want to automate it as well as pull financials. The more we can upload the more money they make.
I don't have an email rep, not sure if that matters, I just have the basic store right now because I can't upload fast enough. Just frustrating because if I can get access, I should be able to upload a few hundred listing with images per hour.

·2 weeks agoWHY is there no transparency around this process? You are going around instructed people to submit a form that produces an automatic email denial. How is this helpful @developer-support@ebay.com ?

·1 month agoAnother near 20-year member w/ near flawless feedback and yet I, too, was auto-denied access to the program with a blanket response email. So I immediately appealed via the process outlined below yet 'crickets'. Located the supposed developer direct contact email (dev-relations@ebay.com) and have sent 6 emails in 2 weeks to no response. @developer-support@ebay.com @ebay.com we need a better process here. I have provided the following information in-line with what accounts that have been approved entry to the program have cited as their success:
I'm an established eBay buyer/seller of nearly 20 years requesting API access to manage my own listings. I'm not building a 3rd app and will not access other users' data. I'm a US-based seller and am a local small business owner trying to scale via the platform he loves. I'll need the following APIs for these use-cases:
- Sell Inventory API — to programmatically create eBay listings (createOrReplaceInventoryItem, createOffer, publishOffer) directly from my own seller account. This is for my own private internal inventory automation tool, not a third-party application. No other users' data is involved.
- Sell Fulfillment API — to monitor order status so sold items can be automatically delisted from other platforms to prevent double-selling.
- Sell Account API — to reference my existing business policies (payment, fulfillment, return) required by the Inventory API when publishing offers.
- Taxonomy API — to programmatically identify the correct eBay cat ID for each item being listed.
My username is soliderofhope, I am a US-based seller, my tool is private and internal-use only, and all listings are created and authenticated via my own account via OAuth.
@developer-support@ebay.com @ebay.com can you please advise the process, status, or other way to be in touch with your department to ascertain application and/or appeal status?
Please advise.
Thank you!

·1 month agoAny updates? My developer account request was similarly rejected. Submitting the form here: https://developer.ebay.com/support/developer-account-support results in an immediate rejection email.

·2 months agoSame here incredibly frustrating, the the instant response email on the appeal, clearly a bot auto rejecting no matter what

·2 months agoSame here. Like any others, just trying to setup a workflow to improve my process and I can't get access to the APIs to develop anything. It is a shame. Wish there was a way to reach out to someone to talk to about it.

·3 months agoJust posting to this thread in the hopes that it somehow gets resolved.. also running into the same issue. Going thru the contact us / my account registration was rejected leads to auto-deny.

·3 months agoBeen a member since 1999 and yeah, no communication at all as to why my request was denied either even after explaining in detail why I need API access. Not a great way to treat longstanding members.

·1 month agoCouldnt agree more! We need to create as much buzz around this as possible to be noticed. They may not even realize this bottle-kneck is a process improvement waiting in disguise @developer-support@ebay.com

No emails for the reason or way to contact.

·5 months agoI submitted my name and reasoning on the form, "My account registration was rejected".

I believe this all to be in error. Thank you.

·4 months agoYep, got the same email. I tried rephrasing my use case multiple times but kept getting the same result. I stopped trying in fear of getting formally blacklisted.
Just looking at other posts here, rejections have been far more frequent recently. My guess - eBay is limiting user access more than ever due to increased arbitrage bot activity, regardless of how valid/ToS-compliant your use case is. Personal experience - rejection emails have been near-instant, which is what leads me to believe the blanket access restriction scenario.
Fingers crossed we get some clarity or lifted restrictions soon!
soldierofhope
·1 month agoI agree @whatnotsupply you're right. It's almost as if they have shut down the developer program completely. Hopefully I'm wrong and we do indeed get a response soon.

·4 months agoI've already completed this Developer support request form, almost a week ago, after our Developer registration was rejected for an unknown reason.
But I never got any email reply or any kind of follow-up. I've spent hours with eBay Support in trying to resolve this issue, and no one seems to know what to do, or who is responsible for this program, or why I can't seem to get any email reply.
I just want to be able to customize and streamline the way that I list books for sale on eBay. This is strictly a private use case! I have no idea what's going on, or why this is proving so difficult.

·3 months agoI'm in the same boat. What's crazy is that I've just been auto-denied on 3 different emails, all from 3 different IP addresses. I'm just assuming they're blanket denying folks at this point, especially considering when you sign up they only ask for email, username, and password. No other information. Somehow they can use that to deny your dev account? Crazy man. I just want to build something to help me manage my little Pokemon store lol
soldierofhope
·1 month agoExactly!!! Same as @bridgeportbooks and @sealedintimecards , I agree we are being blanket auto-denied for whatever reason. Such a shame this is how eBay treats their sellers. Will just take my business elsewhere if I keep being ignored. At least provide insight as to how to bring account to a standard that will warrant access into the program - I have only received the same form responses as everyone else.
ceill
·3 months agoConsidering that the response is instant, that doesn't seem to be the case. I've been selling on eBay for more than 25 years, I've done millions of dollars in sales over the years, how do I reach a person and get actual help?
soldierofhope
·1 month agoThat's what is wild - and your account is a great example. You've brought in millions and generative x revenue for eBay to the tune of thousands/hundreds of thousands potentially. And yet, you have no way to contact support on this issue other than a blanket form that you, too, were auto-denied? Phone support runs you in circles and has no idea nor access to the 'developer program' beyond their email inbox. Unacceptable IMO.
soldierofhope
·1 month agoSame @developer-support@ebay.com - received the same email as @fredspremiumcloset and @whatnotsupply ; can you please advise the status of our appeals since obviously those emails were automated declines if we all received the exact same response automatically?
ankbhar-28
·5 months agoSame - no email. But upon login, I am told account was rejected. And yeah, no representative that I know of.
Does ebay monitor these?
soldierofhope
·1 month agoI don't believe so. Same experience as you. It's time to discuss it en masse online and let them know - this isn't tolerable any more. It doesn't seem to be related to numbers of sales, current listings, feedback, or even IP at this point....we deserve visibility.
kevstamjr91
·5 months agoI was also rejected and they never said why. It just told me to come to this forum or "talk to my eBay representative." I'm just a dad trying to build something, I don't have an eBay representative that I know about.

·1 month agoSame generic language that we all received it seems. I'm sorry you're dealing with this too. None of us have an eBay rep that I know of.
