Being Charged an Ad General Fee on Non-Promoted Items??

I have been charged an Ad general fee on items that I specifically did not promote, because I knew they would sell quickly without promotion. However, I still see an Ad General Fee on at least two items that I know I did not promote! I investigated this more and tried to look up the item in my "ended" promoted campaigns and it was not there either. I know I for sure did not promote these items. Has anyone else experienced this or know what is going on? And if so, how do I connect with Ebay to fix this issue and/or refund the Ad fee if possible? Thank you!

All I wanted was a person just one person and you wouldn't give it to me

I've been selling here for 4 years started as some bonus cash whilst clearing junk making room hobby seller. Decided I can't tolerate selling my time according to others schedules anymore in life so started taking this seriously. The problem is Customer support that I figured would be at a level close to industry standard but learned this thing is not developed with a service oriented vision and ever morphing in my opinion leaps and bounds behind on making it's users feel special because of anything they did when you needed it and have paid fees for time and time again. Whatever it is what it is but somehow probably being a user of the app 97% of the time I just learned about "store subscriptions" and heard the magic words "receive dedicated customer support" which I probably most certainly require more than the average one. So where do I sign up I will gladly pay a little more to have a human with the potential to make decisions based off my unique scenarios that just don't come up in multiple choice options that are the gatekeeper to potential resolve. So it looks like I need to be a big time store to get help or another words pay more that $22 a month to get that industry standard service that is an exclusive paid for benefit here on ebay I understand what is required on my part and my buyers appreciate my service . From what I can see the reviews they leave are thoughtful and appreciative not generic and the majority are repeat buyers who come back and look at items I shouldn't be paying ad fees for those sales but that's just a little tiny creek in the mighty Mississippi river of imbalances I try to tolerate but when I get hit with multiple injustices at once I require support and my options are similar to "here's some aloe now bend over and clinch or sorry were out of aloe but we'll let you spread em if you like instead of clinching." I'm not refunding a low life scheming buyer on my own and I'm not going to let this get to the point where they can ask eBay to step in. The situation is very much where it is because eBay didn't address what I explained in the appeal of my listing being pulled. They just ignored the time I put in to explain what they could very clearly see if they cared enough to investigate when a seller is having a terrible experience using their service. So this is one of around 8 instances where all the data needed to see the path to resolution is in their hands already. 2 times after many calls to which I had to claim my account was hacked to get that call only 2 times were the facts and data looked at and used with common sense and the other 6 times the agent just went around in circles trying to convince me I did something wrong when the evidence was right at their fingertips whether in seller buyer communication or as this one is removing my listing for counterfeit items policy when it's the exact item I just purchased from here with intent to resell and used the sell similar info with my own more detailed photos because I watched a video claiming the algorithm prefers to show listings with same words as proven sold listings so I just switched to doing it that way as I generally like to put my own flavor on the words. So no reason why they either didn't refund me if the item was counterfeit after explaining that in my listing removal appeal. I just kept relisting it and guessing it was someone reporting it because the previous seller was allowed to have it listed. That being said I've been around the block in life and know a schemer I just don't understand what they get out of it makes me think it's eBay behind it after reading about the way they were playing games tormenting that old couple who criticize them in their little old newsletter deal. I've always been vocal about the imbalance I so vividly feel in any bad interaction in life I've never just clinched or spread em in silence but I believe I have a way of attracting bizarre issues that aren't the "nother day in paradise" issues support is used to which is pre written scenarios they believed they thought of everything so AI chat help could do all the work but no I will end up in some sh1t that requires them to port the yacht and put on them boots and talk major sh1t to them and about them when they aren't providing me service I pay handsomely for. Used to promote everything anywhere above the top suggested rate. Everything but that's chump change to them and a life changer to me when they wrongly charge me $2-300 in ad fees don't do jack sh1t for them but affects my entire family circle for days. I just made top seller and thought it was probably a joke or their system was hacked because I couldnt finalize any listings right after for a couple days but checked my email and says I made it but why now? My passion was ruined 2 years ago and I left for mercari because you dropped my seller rating for cancelling an order MY repeat customer requested whom Had great communication with me. You kept ad fees and humiliated me for accommodating good repeat business y'all need a good old fashioned ass hhwiiippn as do most entitled sheltered people with the power to help people but only interested in adding stars to their social status cause they got no true game just stars and farts

Upgraded to Business Account and Top Rated Seller – Then Everything Went Wrong

Has anyone else experienced a major drop in performance after converting their eBay account from a personal account to a business account? I've been an eBay user for many years and have always enjoyed buying and selling on the platform. Earlier this year I converted my account from a personal account to a business account for my small business. Shortly afterwards I achieved Top Rated Seller status, which I was obviously pleased about. Around the same time, however, the account's performance appears to have declined dramatically. Sales have fallen, fees seem much much higher than before, and despite continuing to make sales, my available balance has steadily reduced. The account now has almost no money available, even though items are still selling. Before the change, I was successfully selling both personal household items and business inventory. Since becoming a business account, it feels like something has fundamentally changed, but I can't work out exactly what. I would be interested to hear from other sellers: • Did converting to a business account affect your sales or visibility? • Were there any unexpected fees, subscriptions, advertising settings, or account changes that caught you by surprise? • Has anyone successfully reverted a business account back to a personal account? • Is there anything I should check before contacting eBay support? I genuinely like eBay and want to continue selling on the platform. This small business helps support my family, and the recent decline has made selling on eBay financially very difficult. I'm simply trying to understand what may have happened and whether anyone else has experienced something similar. Is there any way to revert a business account back to a personal account? I can't see an option to do this in my account settings. Has anyone successfully done it by contacting eBay support? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, AL

"Buyer wants to shop more."? Ohhh, eBay. Such a comedian these days. Wow.

Um, yea.  Oh, hey there lil' seller.  My buyer wants to shop a little more, umm, k?  Only 7 days or so.  OK, thanks Seller.   - the worlds BIGGEST marketplace even the way it's written says 'eBay snotty'. "Buyer wants to shop morrrrre". OK there, eBay. Wow   Buyer won an auction.  Apparently some 'beta' program that who/when/why/how guy, buyer, scammer was opted into has reared it's ugly head again and I'm the lucky seller this time around?  Yea baby.   Can someone please enlighten me on this.  Small sale, but wow eBay, wow.  Just more stand up comedy from the 'world's largest marketplace'.  Unreal.     This is the 2nd time I've seen this.  First time around, the buyer didn't pay (yep, after 7 days).  Had to re-auction the item and it sold for over 25% less - just a mere ~$45 ish loss 15 days later.  Oh, and yea - unable to leave the a buyer negative feedback - that's right.     Someone has got to start getting this stuff out on X or find a fun, creative way to have a good time with this comical nonsense.  Borderline criminal.. definitely disrespectful, yet again.   Please, can someone please enlighten me?  Perhaps, not with the token corporate pompom's?  Day after day, after day...  selling on here just keeps getting more and more bizarre.     Buyer wants to shop more lol.  Wow.

Why is eBay charging me SO much?

I have a spreadsheet that estimates fees that clearly needs to be tweaked. I have it set to 15% since good ole Google claims that eBay normally charges between 10-15% FVF not including shipping or ads. YET...most of my recent sales have been a 17-22% transaction fee including one that just sold for $18.75 where eBay took $4.25 just for the transaction alone. Maybe I am not "mathing" correctly but I calculated that to be 22% and Google research said that is usually only for Below Standard Sellers, which I am not. I am Above Standard working toward Top Seller. Please educate me if you know where I went wrong.   Thanks!

Anyone have trouble with verification taking a long time?

I tried to verify my account on September 14th of this year. There was and still is a blue banner on my account which says that my information is being reviewed.   I found it was taking a long time so I reached out after a week and was told to resubmit the documents but the information was not reviewed and as the blue banner was still there a week later I reached out again, and was asked to resubmit the information again but use a different form of ID, so I uploaded my passport. So far I've uploaded my ID and passport.   There was no response for a little over a week so I reached out again. The agent said after reviewing the account, the ID was verified but the blue banner was still there because I had to submit a bank statement so I uploaded the bank statement on the 13th of October but the blue banner is still across the account.   So I reached out again but then another agent told me that my ID was not verified yet nor my bank statement so they sent me a link to resubmit the documents but the link doesn't allow me to upload a new document It just tells me thank you, we're reviewing your submitted information.   So I've been trying to do so for a month now but with no real progress and was wondering if anyone went through the same thing.. and if there's anything I can do to expedite the process?

Final straw:   Mailed a box 12x21x12 25lbs   Was charged $22.75   Ebay emailed an adjustment the dimensions were adjusted to:   Mailed box 12x24x12 25lbs   An additional $23.00 was added to the cost.   No, the dimensions were not incorrect, verified by UPS Store before they accepted it.   I can't dispute, I can't find a human to speak to.   Don't feel like typing the list of other issues since Ebay was curtained by India.   Nothing I can do about it.   Done.

EBay steals more and more from sellers!

So, sellers, be careful! If eBay decides your “performance” is “below standard” you will be charged additional 6% of total value, adding up to 20%+ I total fees eBay will steal from your pocket! So, if you sell an item for $100, thinking that you will have to pay their claimed* 13% fee ($13) and you will be left with $87 - you are wrong! First of all, they will charge 13% of TOTAL Final amount, depending on taxes a buyer had to pay - let’s say a buyer paid $7 in taxes and $10 shipping charge (if you don’t provide free shipping) and TOTAL FINAL AMOUNT adds to $117 - it means that eBay will charge around $15, according to their policy. But, wait! If eBay decides your status is “below standard performance”, they will charge additional 6% from TOTAL FINAL AMOUNT! In our case it would be extra $7! $15+$7=$22 Ta-Da! Another way to steal money from sellers! So, we, as sellers should stop these practices somehow.

Negative feedback hidden in neutral feedback tab?

I had sent out an offer to someone for a lost origin elite trainer box and the price of it was valued relatively close to what price charting was stating at $87.66 and after they accepted the 5% off offer after all taxes and shipping said and done the buyer paid $85.95- that’s still about $2 below msrp   they were quick in accepting the offer and seemed very interested and thankful about the fast shipping because I always send out a message same day letting them know I dropped off their order at the post office and that it should be processed into their system shortly   i don’t understand why people promptly agree to buy certain products and then leave neutral feedback saying “high price” is there something that i can do about this at all? And to be clear for anyone else that sells on eBay and people who buy from us, after the fees are all said and done we barely can make a profit because they take out sales tax and those fees. I lost out on $20 or more on a sale because of those fees (not including paying additional shipping) while the buyers think we are trying to penny pinch them?   you almost have to keep everything collectible related and hold on to it for many years and even then, the value of these items fluctuate so heavily and so many different people are/aren’t willing to pay for certain collectibles. It is not our fault that the market fluctuates for literally everything and it’s DEFINITELY not my fault if people want to buy from poke collectors and they open a product and don’t get the “big hits” that they want. I keep everything collectible related factory sealed to a T and so I don’t have any control over what these people are getting in their pokemon card pack purchases. I don’t know I just find this a huge pet peeve in general it’s my first time receiving “neutral feed back” but with a “negative” comment regarding on pricing and I don’t know what to make of it   im just trying to get rid of some of my collection because im moving apartments this summer and nearly all of the profits (if any) I make are going towards moving costs. I really try to make the pricings as fair as possible    But I’ve also had someone try to send me a $38 offer on an item that’s valued at $60-$70 msrp and In my head I was like no we are like in two different dimensions I cannot go down that low and I never heard from them again after I declined their offer- you can’t meet someone in the middle if they’re way far off from the price you want someone to pay on your listed product it just doesn’t make sense   anyways sorry for long thread I’m new to this community pls have mercy 😔
